The "Recognized Partners" (RP) initiative is a way for public and private child-serving agencies and organizations in Durham to demonstrate their commitment to conduct day-to-day business in a way that is consistent with DSOC values and principles, and to hold themselves accountable to community Child and Family Team best practice standards. It fulfills key goals of the Durham System of Care Memorandum of Agreement, i.e., that DSOC partners will:

®      “Work together to identify common goals and promote the development of a common language that both child-serving professionals and parents understand;

®      Provide individualized, comprehensive, community-based, culturally responsive and family driven services/supports through our respective agencies, organizations and resources.”

The purpose of the "Recognized Partners" initiative is: 1) to promote improved outcomes for children and their families: helping families help their children to succeed at home, in school, and in the community; 2) to provide opportunity to acknowledge agencies and organizations that make a commitment to DSOC values and principles, and Child and Family Team best practice standards; and, 3) to quantify organizations’ fidelity to these values, principles and standards in order to provide reliable guidance for families seeking family-centered, strengths-based, individualized and culturally competent services.
